Little Green Lake in Green Lake County, Wisconsin, experiences the full range of seasonal water temperatures typical of interior Wisconsin lakes. In spring (April–May) surface temperatures commonly run from about 40–60°F (4–16°C) as the lake stratifies and warms. Summer (June–August) brings the warmest conditions, with surface readings often in the 68–80°F (20–27°C) range and peak warmth in July. During fall (September–November) the surface cools back through roughly 50–68°F (10–20°C) as the lake mixes, and in winter the surface is usually at or near freezing—about 32°F (0°C) when ice-locked, or 32–40°F (0–4°C) if open water persists.
