** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pantà de Tavascan is a high‑mountain reservoir in the Catalan Pyrenees whose water remains markedly cool throughout the year due to its elevation and glacial-fed inflows. Typical summer surface temperatures in July and August usually range from about 12 to 18 °C (54 to 64 °F), and in sheltered, shallow bays can briefly approach 20 °C (68 °F) on very warm days. In spring and autumn the surface commonly sits between roughly 4 and 12 °C (39 to 54 °F), while winter temperatures often fall to around 0 to 4 °C (32 to 39 °F), with occasional ice or near-freezing conditions during cold spells.
Swimming at Pantà de Tavascan is physically possible but limited by both temperature and management factors. The low water temperatures for much of the year make prolonged immersion uncomfortable and increase the risk of cold shock and hypothermia, so swimming is mainly a summer activity and best kept brief in cooler months. Being a regulated reservoir used for hydroelectric and water supply purposes, access or specific areas may be restricted at times for safety, operational reasons, or water quality protection; visitors should therefore follow local signage and guidance before entering the water.
