*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Estany de Colomina is a high‑mountain lake in the Catalan Pyrenees whose waters remain cold year‑round because of elevation and snowmelt feeding. In winter the lake usually freezes or hovers just above 0 °C (32–34 °F) under the ice. During spring, as snow melts, surface temperatures typically rise to about 1–6 °C (34–43 °F). In summer, on sunnier, calmer days the surface can warm more noticeably, often ranging from roughly 7–15 °C (45–59 °F) depending on altitude, weather and depth; even then deeper water stays much colder. In autumn temperatures decline again to approximately 3–8 °C (37–46 °F) before the lake refreezes.
Swimming is physically possible only in the warmest summer periods but is generally not encouraged and may be restricted by park management. The combination of persistently low temperatures creates a significant hypothermia risk, and the lake lies within a sensitive protected area where bathing and disturbance can harm fragile aquatic ecosystems and water quality. Visitors should therefore assume swimming is inadvisable unless local rules explicitly permit it and should always prioritize safety and conservation.
