*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pantà de Sallente is a high‑altitude reservoir in Catalonia, and its water temperatures reflect its mountainous setting. In winter the surface can hover around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and may freeze or be accompanied by floating ice in especially cold spells. Spring brings gradual warming, typically 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) as snowmelt feeds the reservoir. Peak warmth is usually reached in mid to late summer, with surface temperatures commonly ranging from about 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) on sunny days, although deeper water remains colder. In autumn temperatures fall again to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) as air temperatures drop and inflows increase.
Swimming at Pantà de Sallente is generally discouraged and in many areas effectively restricted. The reservoir functions as part of a hydroelectric and water‑management system, so water levels can change quickly and there are associated safety hazards such as steep banks, submerged structures and strong currents near intakes or spillways. In addition, the cold temperatures—even in summer—raise the risk of cold‑water shock and hypothermia. Local regulations and posted signage should always be checked before attempting any water activity; where bathing is permitted, caution and appropriate cold‑water precautions are essential.
