*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Ohop Lake, a shallow lake in western Washington, warms and cools with the seasons, so surface temperatures vary noticeably. In winter surface water often sits near freezing to the low 40s °F (about 1–6 °C), while spring typically brings a rise into the mid-40s to low 60s °F (7–17 °C). Summer is when the lake is warmest, with surface readings commonly in the mid-60s to mid-70s °F (18–24 °C) and occasionally reaching the upper 70s °F (25–26 °C) on hot, calm afternoons. By fall the surface cools again, usually dropping back into the mid-40s to low 60s °F (7–17 °C). Because Ohop Lake is relatively shallow, surface temperatures respond quickly to sunny periods, but deeper water remains appreciably colder.
Swimming at Ohop Lake is generally permitted and is most comfortable during the warm summer months when surface temperatures exceed about 65 °F (18 °C). Visitors should be mindful that even on warm days colder pockets and quick depth changes can create chilly conditions, and that water quality or algal bloom advisories can temporarily limit safe swimming. Boating activity, submerged vegetation and seasonally variable water clarity also affect suitability for swimming, so checking current local conditions and posted guidance before entering the water is advisable.
