*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Robinson, a reservoir in the Greenville/Greer area of South Carolina, experiences seasonal surface water temperatures that reflect the region’s temperate climate. In winter the surface often cools to roughly 35–50°F (2–10°C). Spring typically brings a steady rise to about 50–70°F (10–21°C) as air temperatures warm. Peak summer surface temperatures commonly range around 75–85°F (24–29°C) on warm sunny days, while autumn cooling usually sees water in the 60–70°F (16–21°C) band. Like many shallow to mid-depth reservoirs, Robinson can stratify on calm summer days so subsurface water remains noticeably cooler than the surface; temperatures will also vary with recent weather, inflow, and shaded coves versus open stretches.
Swimming at Lake Robinson is not provided with formal public beaches or lifeguarded swim zones, and the lake is primarily managed for boating and fishing rather than organized swimming. That means people do swim there in many spots, but it is effectively at your own risk because of boat traffic, submerged vegetation and hazards, variable water clarity and quality, and the lack of rescue services. Local signs, property rules, or municipal guidance should be checked before entering the water, and basic precautions—life jackets, swimming near a boat or companion, and avoiding algae blooms—are advisable.
