** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Gölcük (Ödemiş Gölcük Gölü) is a small elevated crater lake near Ödemiş in İzmir Province, known for its clear, cool waters and scenic surroundings. Water temperatures vary by season and depth: in winter the surface often sits around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), spring brings a gradual rise to roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F), and summer surface temperatures typically reach about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) on warm days. In autumn the lake cools again to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). These ranges are approximate and influenced by daily weather, wind, and the lake’s sheltered, alpine setting; deeper water remains colder year-round.
Swimming at Gölcük is possible during the warmest months but is not a prominent or guaranteed activity. Many visitors prefer walking, picnicking, and photography rather than bathing, because outside summer the water is uncomfortably cold and there are safety considerations such as sudden depth changes, lack of lifeguards, and variable water quality. In some areas local authorities or park managers may discourage or restrict swimming to protect the natural environment and visitors’ safety, so anyone considering entering the water should check current rules and exercise caution.
