*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lady’s Island Lake, situated in County Wexford on Ireland’s southeast coast, is a coastal lagoon separated from the sea by a narrow sand and shingle bar. Because it is influenced by both freshwater inflows and occasional seawater exchange, its temperature tends to be milder than that of inland lakes. In winter, the water generally remains around 6–8°C (43–46°F), while in summer it typically warms to 15–19°C (59–66°F). During warm, calm periods in July and August, shallow areas near the shore can even reach 20°C (68°F), making it one of the more temperate lakes in Ireland for water-based activities. The mix of fresh and salt water also contributes to slightly higher temperatures than in most freshwater lakes.
Swimming is allowed at Lady’s Island Lake, and while it is not a formal bathing area, calm, shallow zones along the shoreline can offer pleasant conditions during summer. As the lagoon’s water levels and salinity can vary, it is best to swim only in well-known and safe access points. The surrounding area is peaceful and rich in wildlife, particularly seabirds and terns that nest nearby. Close to the lake lies the village of Lady’s Island, a traditional pilgrimage site, while the nearby coastal resort of Rosslare offers beaches, walking trails, and sea views.
