*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Embalse de Guadanuño, like many Andalusian reservoirs, shows notable seasonal variation in water temperature. In summer the surface water typically warms to about 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), sometimes rising a few degrees in shallow bays on hot, calm days. During spring and autumn temperatures commonly range from roughly 12–19 °C (54–66 °F) as air temperatures moderate and inflows change. In winter the reservoir can cool to near 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), with deeper or shaded zones remaining colder. These figures are approximate and can vary with recent weather, reservoir level and depth; deeper water remains substantially colder year-round.
Swimming at Guadanuño depends on local rules and conditions rather than solely on temperature. Some reservoirs in the region allow informal bathing in safe, accessibly shallow areas, and visitors often swim in summer when surface temperatures are comfortable. However, many reservoirs that serve as water supply or have operational infrastructure restrict bathing to protect water quality and for safety reasons such as submerged hazards, sudden drops, boat traffic and lack of lifeguards. Before entering the water it is advisable to check on-site signage or municipal guidance and consider factors like currents, water clarity and temperature shock, especially outside high summer.
