Grimselsee is an artificial reservoir located in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland, near the Grimsel Pass. It is formed by the Grimsel Dam and is part of a larger hydroelectric system. The lake, with its striking turquoise waters, is surrounded by dramatic alpine landscapes and attracts hikers and nature enthusiasts. Due to its high altitude (around 1,900 meters), the water temperature in Grimselsee stays cold year-round, typically ranging from 4°C to 10°C (39°F to 50°F) during summer, making swimming very uncommon.
