*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Granger Lake in central Texas typically follows seasonal patterns common to shallow reservoirs. Surface temperatures in winter often range from about 45–55°F (7–13°C), spring warming brings surface values into the 55–75°F (13–24°C) band, summer highs commonly reach 75–90°F (24–32°C) or a bit higher in heat waves, and fall temperatures generally cool back into the 60–75°F (16–24°C) range. Deeper water remains cooler year-round and stratification can produce colder pockets below the surface; wind, inflows and dam releases also cause local temperature variation.
Swimming is permitted in many public access areas around Granger Lake, but there are typically no lifeguards and recreational users swim at their own risk. Summer and late spring are when water temperatures are most comfortable for swimming, while colder winter temperatures make prolonged immersion unpleasant and potentially hazardous. Swimmers should be cautious of boat traffic, changing water levels, submerged structure and cooler currents near inlets or dam releases, all of which affect safety regardless of surface temperature.
