In summer months, surface readings commonly reach the mid-70s to mid-80s °F (about 24–30 °C), with the warmest conditions typically in July and August. Spring brings a steady warm-up, with surface temperatures often ranging from the low 40s to mid-60s °F (roughly 5–18 °C) as snowmelt and cool rains moderate warming. In fall the water cools again, commonly sitting in the 50s to low 60s °F (10–17 °C) before winter, when surface temperatures frequently fall to near freezing and into the 30s to low 40s °F (0–5 °C); deeper water remains colder year-round.
