** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
#Staffordshire
Chasewater is a shallow reservoir and country park in Staffordshire where surface water temperatures vary through the year. In spring (March–May) temperatures typically range from about 6–14 °C (43–57 °F), in summer (June–August) from roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), in autumn (September–November) about 10–15 °C (50–59 °F), and in winter (December–February) can fall to around 1–6 °C (34–43 °F). These figures fluctuate with rainfall, wind and local weather, and shallower margins warm more quickly than deeper spots.
Swimming in Chasewater is generally not permitted as an informal activity because of safety concerns, water quality considerations and the presence of sailing, windsurfing and motorboat activities; the reservoir is managed for multiple users so unsupervised wild swimming is discouraged. Occasional organised, supervised open-water sessions may be run under controlled conditions by clubs or event organisers. The country park also offers walking and cycling trails, a heritage railway, a visitor centre and wildlife areas, making it a popular spot for recreation even for those who do not enter the water.
