*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bennett Lake is a freshwater lake located within Fundy National Park in New Brunswick, and its water temperatures are heavily influenced by the cool climate of the Bay of Fundy region. Being a park lake, it offers a refreshing alternative to the cold ocean. In the peak summer months, surface water temperatures generally warm up to a range that is cold but suitable for swimming, likely peaking around 18∘C to 22∘C (64∘F to 72∘F), with late August being the warmest period. In the winter, the water cools considerably, dropping to near freezing, typically ranging from 0∘C to 5∘C (32∘F to 41∘F), and the lake is frozen over.
Swimming is generally permitted and encouraged at Bennett Lake, with Parks Canada identifying it as having an unsupervised beach that is an ideal place for a refreshing swim on a hot day. This confirms that swimming is an expected recreational activity. However, the lake operates entirely without official lifeguards, meaning all swimming is strictly at one's own risk. Swimmers should exercise caution due to the possibility of sudden, steep drop-offs and the chilly water, especially during a prolonged stay in the lake. For supervised swimming, the park directs visitors to its heated saltwater pool.
