*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Beaver Lake, located in northwest Arkansas near Rogers and Eureka Springs, is a large, deep reservoir formed by the White River. Its water temperature varies throughout the year, reflecting the region’s humid subtropical climate and the lake’s considerable depth. During winter, surface temperatures generally range from 7–10 °C (45–50 °F), and the lake remains too cold for swimming. In spring, as air temperatures rise, the water gradually warms to 15–20 °C (59–68 °F). By midsummer, the surface layer typically reaches 25–29 °C (77–84 °F), while deeper areas stay much cooler, often below 15 °C (59 °F). In autumn, the lake cools again to 15–20 °C (59–68 °F) before returning to winter levels.
Swimming in Beaver Lake is allowed and very popular during the summer months, especially from late May through early September, when the water reaches comfortable temperatures. The lake’s clear, clean water and scenic Ozark surroundings make it a favorite destination for families and vacationers. Designated swimming areas can be found in several parks, including Prairie Creek, Lost Bridge, and Beaver Lake Dam Site Park. Outside of summer, the water becomes too cold for enjoyable swimming, but Beaver Lake remains a year-round attraction for boating, fishing, scuba diving, and outdoor recreation.
