*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Teteriv River flows through the city of Zhytomyr, forming a fairly wide channel, particularly in the area of the Hydropark and suburban dams. As a typical Polissia river, it has a moderate water regime. During the peak summer season, in July and August, the water temperature in the Teteriv generally warms up to comfortable values, which range from +21 to +24∘C. This is quite suitable for a refreshing swim. However, it should be noted that after heavy rains or water releases from reservoirs, the temperature may temporarily drop.
Swimming opportunities in Zhytomyr are traditionally centered around the city beach in the Hydropark. This is the only officially designated area for mass water recreation. The existence of an official beach means that minimal infrastructure is usually present, and most importantly, water quality checks are periodically conducted. However, local services may occasionally announce that the water does not meet sanitary and hygienic standards, especially after prolonged rains, which forces a delay in opening the swimming season or imposes a temporary ban on swimming.
Thus, swimming in Zhytomyr is possible and popular, but it directly depends on the sanitary condition of the river. The water in the Teteriv is warm enough in the summer, but citizens should always refer to official announcements from local authorities regarding water safety and quality before taking a dip.
