The city of Korosten, located in the Zhytomyr region of northern Ukraine, lies on the banks of the Uzh River — a clean, rocky river that flows through granite formations and green forested hills. The water here is fresh and clear, though slightly cool due to the rocky bottom and the influence of nearby springs. By late May, the river near Korosten typically warms to around 17–19°C, and in July and August it often reaches 21–23°C in shallow areas exposed to the sun. Despite not being very warm, the Uzh offers pleasant and refreshing swimming conditions, especially on hot summer days.
Swimming in Korosten is popular both within the city and in nearby natural spots along the river. The Uzh forms small beaches and calm sections between granite cliffs, where the water is safe for bathing. The current is usually mild, and the clean air of the surrounding forest adds to the sense of relaxation.
