Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Uzh River is the main waterway of the city of Uzhhorod, dividing it into two parts. As a mountain river originating in the Carpathians, it has a fast current and relatively low water temperature. Within the city limits of Uzhhorod, the water warms up to moderate values during the peak of summer (July-August), typically ranging from +18 to +22∘C. This temperature is suitable for a quick cool-down but may be too chilly for prolonged stay in the water for an unprepared person.
Swimming opportunities directly in the urban part of the Uzh River are officially prohibited. Uzhhorod city authorities regularly issue bans on swimming due to the water not meeting sanitary standards and safety concerns related to the unpredictable nature of the mountain river (swift current, uneven bottom). Despite the ban, locals occasionally use certain shallow sections near the banks for cooling off, but this is done at their own risk.
For a full summer water recreation experience, Uzhhorod residents often travel outside the city, where the Uzh River is cleaner and safer. For instance, in the nearby village of Nevytske, there is a section where an old dam has created a calmer and deeper area that locals use as a beach. Thus, while the Uzh River is a landmark of the city, it is not designated for swimming.
