*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The town of Chop, located in the southwestern corner of Ukraine near the borders with Hungary and Slovakia, stands on the banks of the Latorica River. In this lowland area, the river flows slowly and widely, allowing the water to warm up well during the warm season. By late May, temperatures in the Latorica near Chop typically reach 18–20°C, and during July and August the water can rise to 23–25°C, sometimes even higher in shallow stretches. These conditions make swimming comfortable throughout most of the summer, especially on calm, sunny days. By early autumn, the river gradually cools, and by the end of September, the temperature usually falls below 15°C.
Swimming in the Latorica near Chop is quite pleasant thanks to its slow current and gently sloping, sandy or muddy banks. The water is relatively clean for a lowland river, although after heavy rains it can become slightly turbid. The calm flow and easy access to the river make it suitable for casual swimming and relaxation. Locals often bathe or cool off in the river during hot weather, and the surrounding greenery provides a peaceful, natural setting for rest by the water.
