*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Mena is located in northern Ukraine, within a zone that has a temperate continental climate. By midsummer (July-August), water bodies such as lakes, ponds and slower moving rivers around Mena often warm up so that water temperatures reach roughly 20-24 °C in calm, shallow areas — enough to feel comfortable for swimming for many people. In deeper, shaded or flowing water there might be significant variations; in early summer or after rains the water tends to be cooler.
Outside of the warmest months, particularly in late spring and early autumn, water temperatures in these parts drop to around 10-15 °C, which is usually too chilly for most swimmers but possible if one doesn’t mind colder water and enters gradually. In winter the water in many smaller lakes or the upper reaches of rivers may approach freezing, especially in calm sheltered places, making swimming impractical except perhaps for short immersion or “ice-swimming” among those experienced and prepared for it.
If you plan to swim in or near Mena, best to check: (a) how deep / how shallow the spot is (shallow heats faster), (b) how sunny it has been lately, and (c) whether the water is clean and accessible (no heavy vegetation or mud). The combination of warm summer days, shallow water, and calm weather gives the best chance for good swimming conditions.
