*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Konotop lies in a region crossed by small rivers (such as the Yezuch, Lypka, and in the floodplain of the Seim) and is part of the territory of the Seymsky Regional Landscape Park, which includes the Seim’s valleys and floodplains. Because many of the water bodies are shallow or have slow currents, during hot summer days water in these places can warm to comfortable temperatures—often in the ballpark of the low to mid 20-ies in °C (≈ 20–25 °C) in sunlit, shallow stretches. In deeper channels, or in areas shaded by banks or vegetation, the water tends to remain cooler (for example in the 16–20 °C range).
However, in recent years the Seim River in the Konotop area has experienced episodes of pollution, which has affected water quality and prompted official bans on swimming, fishing, and water use in certain sections. After such pollution events, even if the water feels warm, its safety is uncertain—there may be low oxygen levels, elevated levels of organic compounds or other contaminants. At times when water quality is restored (following clean-water periods), locals may use informal swimming spots, but these are not always regulated or monitored.
In practice, then, Konotop offers limited and somewhat risky opportunities for bathing: on hot, dry spells and in shallower parts, swimming might be pleasant; but it’s wise to check recent water quality, avoid strong currents or unclear water, and avoid swimming in stretches of the Seim known to have pollution alerts.
