*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Dniester Canyon (Dnistrovsʹkyy Kanʹyon) is a dramatic stretch of the Dniester River carved through rugged terrain in western Ukraine. In summer, water in the canyon tends to warm reasonably well, especially in slow, sunlit pools near the banks, reaching typical values in the ballpark of 20-23 °C (sometimes even more in calm shallow zones). In deeper, fast-flowing sections or shaded riverbeds the water remains cooler, often in the 16-19 °C range. As the season shifts into late spring or early autumn, temperatures drop — you might see water in the low to mid-teens (12-16 °C), which is bracing but still usable for short dips in warm weather.
Swimming in the Dniester within the canyon is possible and does attract enthusiasts, especially in more tranquil side bays or embayments where the current is mild and the banks are accessible. However, not all spots are safe: steep rocky shores, sudden depth changes, underwater obstacles, and variable current strength pose risks. After heavy rains the river can become more turbulent and murky, reducing visibility and safety. So for a pleasant swim, one should aim for known, locally trusted locations, choose warm midday moments, and always check current conditions before venturing in.
