The city of Berestyn (formerly Krasnohrad) in the Kharkiv Oblast is situated in a zone of moderate continental climate, which means hot summers that favorably affect local water bodies. The aquatic landscape here is represented by rivers (such as Berestova) and numerous ponds and reservoirs. Thanks to the high summer air temperatures, the water temperature in the shallow water bodies around Berestyn becomes very comfortable for swimming.
