** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Niğde (Turkish: Niğde) sits inland on the Anatolian plateau and its lakes and rivers reflect a continental climate with marked seasonal swings. Lowland rivers and reservoirs commonly cool to near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter and gradually warm after snowmelt; spring water temperatures often range from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F). In summer, sheltered lakes and slow-flowing river sections can reach roughly 18–25 °C (64–77 °F) on the surface in the warmest months, while autumn temperatures typically fall back to about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). High‑altitude crater and mountain lakes in the district remain much colder year‑round, frequently staying in the 0–10 °C (32–50 °F) band and sometimes partially freezing in winter.
Swimming is possible in some Niğde water bodies during summer when surface temperatures are highest, but opportunities are limited and conditional. Many small lakes and channels are cold, have strong currents after snowmelt, or are used for irrigation and therefore not suitable or permitted for bathing; some reservoirs restrict access for safety. Water quality and local regulations vary, so swimming is typically undertaken only at informal local spots during warm months when temperatures are comfortable and signage or local authorities do not prohibit it.
