*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Aksaray (in Turkish - Aksaray) in Aksaray province lies in central Anatolia where inland water bodies — mainly the shallow, highly saline Tuz Gölü (Salt Lake), spring‑fed streams such as the Melendiz River in the Ihlara Valley, and a few small irrigation reservoirs — reflect a continental climate. Seasonal water temperatures vary: in winter many rivers and reservoirs approach freezing, roughly 0–5 °C (32–41 °F), while in spring they typically rise to about 5–15 °C (41–59 °F). By summer freshwater bodies commonly reach comfortable ranges around 15–25 °C (59–77 °F), with springs and flowing rivers often several degrees cooler (10–20 °C / 50–68 °F). Shallow areas of Tuz Gölü can warm substantially in summer — often into the mid‑20s up to around 30 °C (mid‑70s to ~86 °F) at the surface — but its high salinity and shallow nature make temperature behavior different from true freshwater lakes.
Swimming opportunities are limited and depend on location, season and local rules. Freshwater reservoirs and slow stretches of rivers can be swimmable in summer when temperatures are in the mid‑teens to mid‑twenties °C, but access, currents, water quality and lack of facilities can restrict safe swimming. Tuz Gölü is generally not suitable for conventional swimming because of extreme salinity, potential skin and eye irritation and conservation considerations. Visitors should check local signage, seasonal conditions and water quality before entering any inland water in the region.
