** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Aslantaş Dam forms a large reservoir in the Kahramanmaraş region whose surface temperatures vary with the seasons and depth. Typical seasonal surface ranges are roughly 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) in winter, 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) in spring, and commonly 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) in summer, with occasional heat-wave peaks approaching 30 °C (86 °F). In autumn the surface usually cools to about 15–22 °C (59–72 °F). Like most reservoirs, Aslantaş exhibits thermal stratification in warm months: the surface layer is considerably warmer while deeper water remains much cooler year-round, so temperatures can change quickly with depth and location near inflows or the dam structure.
Swimming in the Aslantaş reservoir is physically possible during the warmer months when surface temperatures are comfortable, and informal recreational swimming is common in designated picnic or park areas. However, access and safety vary locally: swimming is often discouraged or restricted near the dam, intakes, boat channels and steep banks because of strong currents, sudden depth changes, submerged hazards and boat traffic. Water quality is generally suitable for recreation in popular spots but can change with agricultural runoff and seasonal conditions. Visitors should follow local signs and guidance from park or municipal authorities, choose sheltered areas, and observe standard water-safety precautions.
