*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Torrelavega (Spanish: Torrelavega) is an inland town in Cantabria with rivers and nearby reservoirs rather than a large natural lake inside the urban area. Surface water temperatures in local embalses and slow-flowing river stretches vary seasonally: in summer they commonly range from about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), in spring and autumn from roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F), and in winter can fall to around 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), with colder readings possible in higher-altitude reservoirs. These figures are approximate averages for sheltered, shallow areas; deeper or mountain reservoirs tend to be cooler year-round.
Swimming opportunities around Torrelavega exist but are conditional. Some reservoirs and river spots are used for bathing in the warmer months, and organised swimming or recreational areas may be available, yet access and permissibility depend on local regulations, water quality and safety considerations. Certain embalses prohibit bathing because they serve as drinking-water sources, have strong currents, submerged hazards or restricted management rules. Therefore swimming is effectively allowed only where expressly permitted and where signage, lifeguard provision or local authorities indicate it is safe; visitors should check current rules and conditions before entering the water.
