*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Playa Custa Llago, located in Castile and León, sits on the shore of a freshwater lake whose temperature varies considerably through the year. In spring the surface typically ranges from about 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) as the water gradually warms; in summer it is most comfortable for bathing, commonly between 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) though sheltered, shallow spots can be a few degrees warmer. Early autumn usually sees temperatures in the 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) bracket as cooling begins, while winter brings much colder conditions, often close to 0–6 °C (32–43 °F) at the surface. Local conditions such as wind, recent weather, and depth produce variability, and deeper water may remain substantially colder than the surface.
Swimming at Playa Custa Llago is generally allowed during the official bathing season when local authorities monitor water quality and post signs or provide lifeguards; this makes summer the safest and most popular period for recreational swimming. Outside of the permitted season, swimming is usually discouraged because of low temperatures, absence of supervision, and possible water quality or safety issues. Visitors are advised to follow on-site signage and municipal notices, since rules and monitored periods can change from year to year.
