*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Vercelli itself sits on the wide Po plain and is not directly on a large tourist lake, but the surrounding area of Piedmont offers several freshwater options within reasonable driving distance, such as Lake Viverone and the larger subalpine lakes to the north. Typical seasonal surface temperatures for these Piedmont lakes range from about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in winter, through spring averages near 10–16 °C (50–61 °F), rising to the warmest months when water commonly reaches 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) in June to August, and cooling again to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) in autumn. Shallow bodies and sheltered bays warm more quickly, while deeper or alpine-fed lakes stay cooler.
Swimming is generally allowed at designated beaches and recreational areas during the official bathing season, when municipalities monitor water quality and may provide lifeguards. The Sesia River near Vercelli can be used for swimming in some stretches, but currents, low temperatures and variable conditions make it less suitable than lakes. Rice fields and irrigation canals in the immediate Vercelli plain are not appropriate for bathing. Visitors should obey local signage and municipal regulations, check current water-quality reports, and choose marked bathing sites for safety.
