Drogheda is a historic port town located on the mouth of the River Boyne, where the river meets the Irish Sea. Due to this tidal location, the water temperature of the Boyne near Drogheda is influenced by both river and sea conditions. Generally, river temperatures in Ireland are quite cool; you can expect a seasonal range from approximately 4∘C (39∘F) in the depths of winter to a milder peak of around 16∘C (61∘F) during late summer.
