*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Hillerød (Danish: Hillerød) sits amid North Zealand’s lakes and small rivers, the largest nearby being Esrum Sø and a network of streams and mill ponds. Surface temperatures in these inland waters vary with the seasons: in summer lakes commonly warm to about 18–23 °C (64–73 °F), sometimes reaching 24–25 °C (75–77 °F) in hot spells; rivers and flowing reaches are slightly cooler, often 15–20 °C (59–68 °F). In spring the water typically rises from single digits to around 8–15 °C (46–59 °F), while autumn sees a decline to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). Winter temperatures are near freezing, frequently 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), and small lakes can ice over in cold winters.
Swimming in Hillerød’s lakes and rivers is generally allowed and popular where access is provided. Several designated bathing spots and shorelines are used for recreation, and public monitoring of water quality takes place in the bathing season; private land ownership or reed beds can limit access at specific locations. Swimmers should be aware of seasonal algal blooms in warm weather, cold-water risks outside summer, variable depths, and local signage or temporary advisories that may close sites for health or safety reasons.
