*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Trotuș River in central Romania is a mountain-fed watercourse whose temperature varies strongly with season and flow. In winter the water often falls to near freezing, typically around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), while spring brings gradual warming to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as snowmelt and rain increase discharge. Summer temperatures in slower, shallow reaches can reach approximately 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), though in fast-moving or shaded sections the water remains noticeably cooler. During autumn the river commonly drops back to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as air temperatures decline and flows stabilize.
Swimming in the Trotuș is possible in many accessible stretches, especially in summer when temperatures are most comfortable, but it is not uniformly managed as a public bathing area. Whether swimming is advisable depends on local water quality, current strength and depth: rapid flows, sudden drop-offs and higher turbidity after rain can make sections hazardous. Local regulations or posted signs may prohibit access at particular sites, and seasonal cold makes winter swimming unsafe because of hypothermia risk. Those choosing to swim should prefer calm, shallow areas, check recent local conditions, and use caution rather than assume the river is safe everywhere.
