*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Moldova River in north‑eastern Romania is a mountain‑fed watercourse whose temperatures reflect seasonal changes and altitude. In winter the river often drops to near freezing, typically around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), while spring temperatures rise through snowmelt to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). Summer surface temperatures in slower, low‑altitude stretches commonly range between about 16–24 °C (61–75 °F), though colder, faster mountain reaches remain cooler. Autumn cooling brings temperatures down to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F). Localized conditions — depth, flow speed, shading and recent rainfall — can cause significant short‑term variation in these approximate ranges.
Swimming in the Moldova River is possible in warm months but is not universally recommended everywhere. Some tranquil, shallow sections are suitable for bathing when water quality is verified and currents are gentle; however many stretches are affected by strong flows, submerged hazards and occasional pollution, and there are relatively few formal, supervised bathing sites. During spring floods or after heavy rains the river becomes hazardous due to swift currents and debris, and in winter the cold temperatures make immersion unsafe. Anyone considering swimming should check local advisories, choose calm, monitored locations if available, and be mindful of temperature‑related shock and river dynamics.
