The Siverskyi Donets is one of the major rivers of eastern Ukraine, flowing through Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk oblasts before entering Russia. It is known for its broad valley, clean sandy banks, and relatively slow current, which make it one of the most popular rivers in the region for swimming and recreation. In summer, the water temperature typically ranges from 22–27°C, and during prolonged heat can reach up to 28°C or slightly more. The river’s gentle flow and wide, sunlit stretches allow the water to warm up quickly, providing ideal conditions for bathing and boating.
Throughout its course, especially near cities like Izium, Sloviansk, and Sviatohirsk, there are many natural beaches and recreation zones where locals and tourists come to swim, relax, or camp along the riverbanks.
