** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Riu de la Sénia in Aragon runs through a landscape of limestone gorges and cultivated valleys, and its water temperature reflects that varied terrain and Mediterranean climate. In winter the river commonly sits between about 6–10 °C (43–50 °F), rising in spring to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as snowmelt and warming air increase flow. Summer temperatures in sheltered pools and slower reaches often reach 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), occasionally a few degrees higher in shallow, sun-exposed spots, while autumn brings a gradual cooling to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). Local springs, shade from canyon walls, upstream reservoirs and recent rainfall all influence these ranges, so conditions can vary substantially from one reach to another and from year to year.
Swimming in the Riu de la Sénia is possible in many natural pools and tranquil stretches, and summer is generally the most comfortable season because of warmer water. However, whether swimming is allowed at a specific site depends on local regulations, private land access and safety considerations: strong currents, submerged rocks, sudden releases from upstream reservoirs and variable water quality in agricultural areas can make some spots hazardous or restricted. Bathers should choose well-known, accessible sites, check local notices, and exercise caution because formal lifeguard services are seldom present outside designated bathing areas.
