*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Sakarya River (Sakarya Nehri) exhibits notable seasonal variation in water temperature along its course. In winter months temperatures commonly fall to roughly 4–10 °C (39–50 °F), while spring typically brings a rise into the 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) range as snowmelt and runoff moderate conditions. Summer surface temperatures in slower, shallower stretches can reach about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), sometimes a few degrees higher in isolated pools or reservoir sections, and autumn usually cools back to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). Local factors such as depth, flow rate, shading, and nearby reservoirs or tributaries create microclimates, so temperatures can vary significantly between upstream rural reaches and lower urban stretches.
Swimming is possible in parts of the Sakarya River but is not uniformly advised. Calm, shallow areas and designated recreational spots are used for bathing in warm months when temperatures are comfortable, yet other sections have strong currents, sudden depth changes, boat traffic, or infrastructure such as dams that make swimming hazardous. Water quality also varies; industrial and urban pollution affects some stretches, so local advisories and signage should be checked. In cooler seasons, lower temperatures increase hypothermia risk, so even technically permissible swimming may be unsafe when water is below about 15 °C (59 °F).
