Known for its scenic beauty, the Roya is popular for outdoor activities, including swimming, especially in summer. During warmer months, water temperatures range from 16-22°C (61-72°F), which can be comfortable for swimming in calm sections of the river. Natural pools and calmer areas near towns, such as Breil-sur-Roya, are popular for swimming, where visitors can enjoy the refreshing waters and surrounding mountain landscapes. However, certain sections have stronger currents or rocky terrain, so caution is advised when choosing a spot.
