*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The River Bandon in County Cork is a scenic waterway that flows through the town of Bandon before eventually entering the Celtic Sea via Kinsale Harbour. As a river in Ireland's mild, maritime climate, its temperature remains cool throughout the year. Typical winter temperatures for the river are likely to range from 8∘C to 10∘C (46∘F to 50∘F). During the peak summer season, the water warms up to approximately 15∘C to 18∘C (59∘F to 64∘F).
While the River Bandon offers beautiful views, general swimming is not officially promoted or recommended due to factors like varying water quality, currents, and deep pools, especially near the weir in Bandon town. However, the river is hugely popular for game fishing, particularly for its stocks of salmon and sea trout, with many local clubs maintaining the angling tradition. Beyond the river itself, the area is known as the Gateway to West Cork and is close to attractions like the historic Bandon Farmers' Market, the ruins of Castlelack Stone Row, and the famous coastal town of Kinsale.
