*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Nera (Italian: Nera) runs through the Umbrian Valnerina and is fed by mountain springs and tributaries, which keeps its water relatively cool year-round. Typical seasonal water temperatures are approximately 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in winter, 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) in spring, 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in summer in the sun-warmed pools and slower stretches, and 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) in autumn. These are general estimates: shallow, sun-exposed pools can be warmer on hot days, while shaded gorges, springs and deep holes remain noticeably colder even during summer.
Swimming in the Nera is commonly enjoyed where the current is gentle and local communities have informal or designated bathing spots, but it is not uniformly allowed everywhere. Access and use depend on local rules, safety considerations and conservation measures; some stretches are restricted because of strong currents, underwater hazards, or protections for wildlife and fisheries. Water quality is often good, but cold temperatures can increase the risk of cold-water shock, so swimmers should choose calm, supervised spots, heed signage, and follow local guidance before entering the river.
