*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Klarälven (in Swedish: Klarälven) winds through Värmland County and shows pronounced seasonal variation in water temperature. During spring, especially with snowmelt, surface temperatures are typically very cold, often around 1–8 °C (34–46 °F) and may feel colder due to fast, turbid flows. In summer the river warms, with many sheltered, shallow stretches reaching roughly 12–22 °C (54–72 °F) at peak months of July and August; deeper or faster sections remain cooler. In autumn temperatures fall back to about 5–12 °C (41–54 °F), and in winter much of the river can be at or near freezing, around 0–2 °C (32–36 °F), with ice cover on calmer reaches.
Swimming in Klarälven is possible and commonly practiced in calm, designated bathing spots or shallow backwaters where currents are weak and access is safe. However, many stretches have strong currents, variable depth, submerged obstacles and occasional boat traffic, and some areas are affected by hydroelectric installations, so swimming is not advisable everywhere. Local signage, informal bathing areas and municipal beaches are the safest choices; swimmers should be aware of cold-water shock in spring and autumn, the lack of lifeguards in many places, and take normal precautions to reduce hypothermia and current-related risks.
