*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Höljessjön Reservoar (Swedish: Höljessjön Reservoar) is a managed lake in Värmland County that typically follows the seasonal temperature patterns of inland Swedish reservoirs. During winter months the surface is often at or just above freezing, roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), and it may be ice-covered for periods. In spring the water commonly warms from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as ice melts and runoff continues. Summer surface temperatures usually reach their peak, often in the range of 15–22 °C (59–72 °F), although during hot spells the shallow bays can approach the mid-20s °C (mid-70s °F). In autumn the lake cools back down to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) before refreezing.
Swimming in Höljessjön Reservoar is generally possible and permitted under Swedish access traditions, but there are practical and safety considerations. Because it is a reservoir, parts of the shoreline may be steep, rocky or close to intake structures and outflows, and some areas can have strong currents near dams and channels; local signage or landowner instructions should be observed. Water quality is usually suitable for bathing, yet cold-water shock is a real risk outside the warmest weeks, and visibility or underwater hazards can vary. It is sensible to choose sheltered, shallow spots during summer and to check local information before entering the water.
