** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Keila River (Keila jõgi) in northern Estonia has a marked seasonal rhythm in water temperature. In winter the river is often close to freezing, typically around 0–2 °C (32–36 °F) and portions can ice over. Spring thaw raises temperatures gradually to roughly 1–8 °C (34–46 °F) as runoff cools the flow. In summer the river can warm to more comfortable levels, commonly ranging from about 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) on warm days, though shaded or flowing stretches remain cooler. Autumn sees a steady decline, with temperatures often between 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) depending on weather and daylight.
Swimming is possible in many calmer stretches of Keila River during the warmer months, and people do bathe where access and conditions permit, but it is not universally safe or formally regulated everywhere. Local rules, posted signs and water-quality results should be checked because currents, submerged obstacles, weirs and the presence of waterfalls or narrow channels create hazards; some locations near falls or infrastructure may be explicitly discouraged or fenced off. Cold shoulder-season water and sudden changes in depth make hypothermia and accidents a concern, so swimmers should choose sheltered, monitored spots, avoid hazardous sections, and heed local guidance for safety.
