** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Helge å, the river running through Skåne County in southern Sweden, shows clear seasonal variation in water temperature. In winter the river is cold and often close to freezing, typically around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) depending on ice cover and weather. During spring, as snowmelt and warming air raise flows, temperatures commonly move into the 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) range. In summer shallow, slow-moving stretches can warm to roughly 15–22 °C (59–72 °F), though deeper or shaded sections remain cooler; during heatwaves surface values may exceed this. In autumn the water cools again, generally falling into a band around 6–14 °C (43–57 °F). Local factors such as flow speed, depth, shading from vegetation and recent rainfall can shift these figures from place to place and year to year.
Swimming in Helge å is generally possible and not formally prohibited, reflecting Sweden’s right of public access which allows recreational use of inland waters. However, suitability varies: some stretches are popular for bathing or have designated swimming spots, while others have stronger currents, boat traffic, muddy banks or variable water quality influenced by agriculture and runoff, making them less appropriate. Municipal water-quality reports, local signage and common-sense precautions should be consulted before entering the river.
