❌ As of today, the minimum water temperature ranges from 41°F (5°C) to 47°F (8°C). This water temperature is still quite low, and swimming in such conditions may only be comfortable for hardened individuals. It is recommended to limit the time spent in the water to avoid hypothermia. For those not accustomed to cold water, it is better to refrain from swimming. However, if you decide to enter the water, it is advisable to wear a warm wetsuit for protection against the cold. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. When the air temperature is below 68°F (20°C), and sometimes even below 77°F (25°C), swimming can be unpleasant even with relatively high water temperatures.

** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Ronnebyån (in Swedish Ronnebyån) is a relatively shallow river in Blekinge that warms and cools with the seasons. Typical water temperatures are low in winter, often around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), rise through spring to roughly 2–12 °C (36–54 °F), reach their warmest in summer at about 14–22 °C (57–72 °F) in sheltered, shallow stretches, and fall back to around 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) in autumn. Exact readings vary with weather, water depth, flow and proximity to the Baltic estuary; deeper or faster-flowing sections remain noticeably colder than slow, sun-exposed pools. Short-term changes also occur after heavy rain or snowmelt, which can cool and increase turbidity.
Swimming is generally permitted and is a common summer activity at designated bathing spots and quays along the river, but it’s not universally safe everywhere. Local authorities sometimes mark approved bathing areas where water quality is monitored; outside those places swimmers should be cautious because of currents, submerged obstacles, variable depths and occasional pollution after runoff events. Cold-water shock is a real risk outside the warmest months, so many people restrict swimming to summer or use appropriate safety measures. Always heed local signs and municipal information to choose safe entry points.
