Water Temperature: Daily Trends, Historical Records, and Forecast
❌ As of today, the minimum water temperature ranges from 41°F (5°C) to 47°F (8°C). This water temperature is still quite low, and swimming in such conditions may only be comfortable for hardened individuals. It is recommended to limit the time spent in the water to avoid hypothermia. For those not accustomed to cold water, it is better to refrain from swimming. However, if you decide to enter the water, it is advisable to wear a warm wetsuit for protection against the cold. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. When the air temperature is below 68°F (20°C), and sometimes even below 77°F (25°C), swimming can be unpleasant even with relatively high water temperatures.

*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Nissan (Swedish: Nissan) is a river running through parts of southern Sweden, including sections that touch Jönköping County. Water temperatures in Nissan vary strongly with the seasons and local conditions. In winter the river often approaches near-freezing, commonly between about 0 and 4 °C (32–39 °F). Spring brings a steady rise as snowmelt and runoff warm the flow to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). In summer the more sheltered stretches and slower-moving reaches can warm to roughly 14–22 °C (57–72 °F), with occasional warmer spikes in shallow bays during heat spells. Autumn cooling typically returns temperatures to roughly 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) as air temperatures drop.
Swimming in Nissan is generally possible and practiced locally during the warmer months, but it is not universally advised everywhere along the river. Municipalities and local authorities monitor water quality and post warnings where pollution, cyanobacteria risk, or poor bathing water status occur; strong currents, variable depths, and cold-water shock remain safety concerns even on warm days. Visitors and residents are advised to use designated bathing spots where water quality is tested, heed posted warnings, and take standard river-safety precautions such as avoiding strong currents and entering slowly to acclimatize to the temperature.
