*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Rio Gévora (Portuguese: Rio Xévora), flowing through the Portalegre District in eastern Portugal, tends to have cool, clear water influenced by upstream springs, vegetation shading and seasonal flow. Typical winter temperatures range from about 8–12 °C (46–54 °F), spring sees warming to roughly 10–16 °C (50–61 °F), summer temperatures commonly climb to 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) with occasional warm pockets approaching 26 °C (79 °F) during heat spells, and autumn generally brings values around 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). Because the river is relatively shallow in many stretches but can deepen in pools, local thermal conditions vary considerably over short distances and from year to year.
Swimming in the Gévora is possible in many accessible spots, especially in summer when temperatures are most comfortable, but it is not uniformly sanctioned or managed along the whole course. Access and permissibility depend on local signage, private property boundaries and periodic water-quality checks; some reaches are popular with locals while others are restricted for safety or conservation reasons. Swimmers should be cautious about currents after heavy rains, submerged rocks, variable depth and limited lifeguard provision. In short, recreational bathing is feasible in suitable, clearly permitted areas during warmer months, but always verify access, water quality and safety conditions before entering.
