*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Dubna River in Latvia typically has pronounced seasonal variation in water temperature. In winter months the river is often at or just below freezing, around 0–1 °C (32–34 °F) and commonly iced over, making ordinary swimming impractical. During spring thaw temperatures remain low, roughly 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) through March to May, so water is still cold and carries a higher risk of hypothermia. Summer brings the warmest conditions, with common ranges of about 14–22 °C (57–72 °F) in June–August and occasional warm spells pushing shallow areas to 23–25 °C (73–77 °F). In autumn the river cools to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) as air temperatures fall and runoff increases.
Swimming in the Dubna is possible in summer and at designated or commonly used local spots, but it is not uniformly regulated; permission and safety depend on local rules, water quality monitoring, and site conditions. Authorities or municipalities may approve certain beaches, while other stretches remain unofficial due to strong currents, submerged obstacles, variable depth, seasonal algal growth, or pollution after heavy rains. There are typically no lifeguards outside maintained bathing sites, and winter swimming is only practiced by experienced ice-swimmers with proper precautions. Always check local signage and recent water-quality information before entering the river.
