*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Berdan River (in Turkish: Berdan) in Mersin has noticeably variable water temperatures because it is fed from the Taurus Mountains and passes through reservoirs and irrigated plains before reaching the Mediterranean. Seasonal surface temperatures typically range from about 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) in winter, warming to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) in spring. During summer months the lower reaches and slower stretches can rise to approximately 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), while autumn sees cooling to near 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). Mountain-fed upstream sections remain colder year‑round and reservoirs can show their own microclimates depending on depth and flow.
Swimming opportunities on the Berdan are limited and conditional rather than uniformly open. Reservoirs, dam forebays and many managed stretches are often subject to restrictions for safety and water‑management reasons; currents, sudden releases, submerged structures and cold inflows present hazards. In the lower, near‑coastal sections people may swim in summer when temperatures are higher, but water quality can be affected by agricultural runoff and urban discharge, and local regulations or signage may prohibit bathing. For both safety and legal reasons it is advisable to check current local guidance before swimming and to avoid areas near dams, intakes or fast currents.
