*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Alfeios (Αλφειός) is one of the longest rivers in the Peloponnese and its water temperature varies noticeably through the year. In winter months (December–February) surface temperatures commonly sit around 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), while spring (March–May) usually warms to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). In the warmest months of late June through August temperatures in some slower, shallow stretches can reach about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), dropping again in autumn (September–November) to roughly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). Local conditions such as altitude, shade, groundwater springs and recent rainfall cause substantial variation, so measurements at a particular spot will differ from these general ranges.
Swimming is permitted in many accessible parts of the Alfeios and is popular in calmer pools and shallower banks, especially from late spring to early autumn when temperatures are most comfortable. However, there are no uniform lifeguard services along the river, and some reaches have strong currents, sudden depth changes, submerged rocks or agricultural runoff after heavy rain; such conditions can make swimming unsafe. Visitors are advised to choose well-used spots, heed local signage or advice, and avoid entering the river after storms when flow and water quality can deteriorate.
