Údolní nádrž Jesenice, located near Cheb in western Bohemia, is one of the warmer reservoirs in the region thanks to its relatively low altitude and sheltered setting. During June, water temperatures usually range between 19–21 °C, while in July and August they often climb to 23–25 °C, with the warmest days even reaching 26 °C. This makes it one of the more reliable spots in the area for comfortable swimming throughout the summer season.
The reservoir is well known for recreation, and its long shoreline provides many opportunities for swimming. There are both organized beaches with facilities and quieter stretches where people can enter the water from grassy banks.
